SCOPE OF WORK
Contractor shall furnish all labor, material, equipment, transportation and supervision to sand, stripe, and finish Roland Hall gymnasium floor, including the layout and painting of games lines. Remove two (2) 2 wide metal tracks approximately 113 each and replace with wood to exactly match existing floor boards.

SUBMITTALS

1. Bids are to include at least three (3) references pertaining to similar projects performed as described in these specifications. References shall include a narrative statement with a general history. References shall include the individual s name, title, telephone number, mail and address.
2. Include in your bid, a detailed sequence of events and timeline of how you propose to complete the scope of work.
3. Submit complete listing of materials to be used. Listing should include the manufacture name and description of product intended to be used. Include copies of the manufacturer s recommended maintenance and cleaning procedures.
4. Submit samples of color charts for the line marking of courts and fonts suggested.

SPECIFICATIONS

1. Bidders shall have a minimum of five (5) years experience in this type of work.
2. Bidders are responsible for exact measurements.
3. Sand, finish and game mark existing wood floors in Roland Hall 3rd Floor Gym.
4. Sand to original bare wood, buff and finish floor. Paint game marks as indicated on attached drawings (note optional badminton court markings).
5. The sealer and finish shall be an oil-modified urethane. Manufacturer of sealer and finish used is to be approved by the government prior to applications.
6. Sanding: The surface of the wood floor shall be machine sanded smooth, and level, with coarse, medium and fine grades of sandpaper with a minimum of four (4) sanding cuts. The edges shall be sanded to match the center, free from scratches, grooves or other sanding imperfections. Additional cuts shall be required if the surface is not completely smooth. A diagonal cut shall be required if the floor is cupped.
7. Finishing: After sanding, sweep the floor or vacuum until surface and cracks are free of sanding dust. Tack towel the floor with a Turkish towel dampened with solvent or water. Adequate ventilation is needed for proper curing of sealing and finishes.
8. The entire floor shall have two (2) coats of oil modified urethane seal coat and two (2) finish coats will be required unless other wise specified per manufacturer s recommendations. Seal coats are to be applied evenly (at a rate of approximately 300 sq. ft. per gallon) without heave puddling of finish or dry areas. Allow seal coats to dry then buff smooth and tack towel between each coat.
9. Paint: Paint to be compatible with sealer and finish. Paint game lines between final seal coat and first finish coat as required meeting the NCAA standards. Colors and Fonts must be approved by the government prior to applications. Allow floor finish to cure a minimum of 72 hours after application of coat.
