California Department of Corrections and Rehabiltation is requiring buildings and/or property to locate multiple residential/treatment facilities statewide. These facilities will house the non serious, non violent female offenders in 75-, 100-, and 200-bed facilities in various California counties determined by demographic numbers of offender population based on the counties of commitment. Sites must be within 25 miles of a population center of 50,000 or more. For additional site criteria and project package refer to contact information. Funding for the program and project authorization is pending final budget appropriation and approval.
Buildings submitted must: 1) Be Asbestos Hazard-free upon occupancy; 2) Accommodate State plans, specs., seismic safety, and applic. codes (Handicap, ADA-Title 24, & UBC); 3) Be close to public trans.; and 4) Comply with Disab.Vet. Bus. Enterprise requirements. The State of California will, where cost effective, give preference to those buildings which demonstrate Energy Star compliance.
