Request for Information

Provision of Comprehensive Young Child Wellness Services

(Amended)

The Department of Health, Family Health Services Division, is scheduling a Request for Information (RFI) meeting to select a provider for inclusion in a Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Project LAUNCH grant application which may result in a contract with the provider if the state is awarded the grant.

Service specifications are related to the provision of comprehensive young child wellness which is defined as a state of positive physical, emotional, social and behavioral health. Young Child is defined as children ages 0-8. Applicants will be evaluated for selection based on completion of their application which will be using the Five-Level Likert Scale. The evaluation criteria includes Experience and Capability; Project Organization and Staffing; Service Delivery; and Financial. Applications will be due at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23, 2008.

The Department specifically seeks comments on:

  1. Young Child Wellness resources within the community.
  2. Collaboration between community resources to refer and engage children and families to child wellness resources in a culturally appropriate manner.
  3. Implementing evidence-based programs at the local level including, but not limited to:
    1. Mental health consultation;
    2. Developmental assessments across a range of settings, including primary care;
    3. Integration of behavioral health programs into primary care;
    4. Family strengthening and parenting skills training; and
    5. Home visitation.

Participation in the RFI meeting is optional and is not required to respond to any subsequent procurement action that the Department of Health may take. Neither the Department of Health nor the interested party responding has any obligation under the RFI.

The RFI meeting will be conducted on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Department of Health, Kinau Hale, 1250 Punchbowl Street, 2nd Floor Conference Room (room 205).
