The Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, Virginia seeks sources and information for a new Water Packaging System (WPS). The existing Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment (MOLLE) pack system has a hydration sleeve that accommodates a "Camel Back" type bladder called the On The Move Drink System. The packaged water created by the WPS must be compatible with the Camel Back without transferring from another container.
The WPS needs to be rugged, automated, and skid mounted so that it can be mounted on a standard HMMWV trailer without exceeding the towing capacity of the HMMWV (4200 pounds). The system will place potable water into three (3) liter bags that can be used in the Marine-on-the-move hydration system or as stand alone packaged water. The WPS must be able to produce 1500 3-liter bags in less than 2 hours.
Commercial firms possessing the characteristics noted in any of the above systems are encouraged to submit product brochures and pricing materials outlining specifications, to include a statement of capabilities. Please notate if the product is offered on GSA Schedule. Responses will be reviewed to identify firms potentially capable of fulfilling the Governments requirements. This Request for Information (RFI) is for planning. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI, or otherwise pay for the information requested. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of submission of responses to this RFI and Government use of such information.
