Description: The Bureau of Substance Abuse Services seeks proposals for two Regional The Bureau of Substance Abuse Services seeks proposals for two Regional Substance Abuse Peer-to- Peer Recovery Support Centers. These centers will offer people in recovery education and peer support that help prevent relapse and promote sustained recovery from alcohol and drug use. Proposals are sought from the Central and MetroWest regions. Priority will be given to agencies with prior experience providing recovery support for substance users, including peer-to-peer recovery services. For the purposes of this RFR, peers are defined as persons in recovery from alcohol and/or drug addiction, or family members/concerned others impacted by such, who share their experience to help mentor, guide and support individuals with a similar history. At a minimum, peer-to-peer services should be designed for and by people in recovery in ways that are culturally relevant and responsive to community needs. We seek to support the development of recovery centers that operate independently of other existing programs.
