REQUEST FOR QUOTES (RFQ)
FOR
AUTO PARTS AND SUPPLIES
(RFQ NO. CDC08-568)


Notice is hereby given that quotes will be received at the Community Development Commission of the County of Los Angeles (Commission), until Monday, August 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. for auto parts and supplies. This will include furnishing all labor, materials and equipment, and performing all work necessary in accordance with the Statement of Work (Exhibit A).

Quotes shall be submitted on the attached Quote Sheet (Exhibit B) with a cover letter. Quotes must arrive by facsimile at (323) 261-5165, in person, or mailed by the due date and time listed on this RFQ at the address shown below:

All quotes shall be labeled Auto Parts and Supplies, August 11, 2008 . Bidders are solely responsible for ensuring their Quote is received by the Commission in accordance with the solicitation requirements, before the above stated due date and time. The Commission shall not be responsible for any delays in mail or by common carriers, or by transmission errors or delays, or mistaken delivery. Deliveries made before the stated due date and time but to the wrong department/unit, will be considered non-responsive, unless re-delivery is made to the correct department/unit before the stated due date and time. Quotes received after the due date and/or time will be considered late and will not be considered for award.

Bidders are advised that this RFQ is an informal solicitation, and should not be construed as engaging in a formal competitive bidding pursuant to any statue, ordinance, rule or regulation.

It is policy of the Commission to promote off-peak deliveries and pickup of all commodities by Commission vendors between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday though Friday, during regularly scheduled business days. The purpose of this policy is to reduce vehicle trips and vehicle emissions during the morning and afternoon commute periods. For purposes of the Commission policy, the trip shall be deemed to be compliant if the actual time of delivery provides for arrival at the Commission facility or location on or after 9:00 a.m. and the delivery or pickup is initiated at the Commission facility or location on or before 3:30 p.m.

The Commission reserves the right to reject any and all Quotes. This RFQ is not a contract or commitment of any kind. The Commission is not liable for costs incurred in the preparation of the respondent s Quote. It reserves the right to issue supplementary information or guidelines related to this RFQ. Notwithstanding any other provisions herein, the Commission reserves the right in its sole discretion to waive minor technical deficiencies in the Quotes. In accordance with the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, Age Discrimination Act of 1975 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, it is the policy of the Commission to assure equal opportunity to all persons, in the award and performance of any contract, without regard to race, color, sex, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, marital status, or disability.
