WCB Programs and Services The Workers Compensation Board administers an employer funded insurance program that protects employers and workers as defined by the Workers Compensation Act. Workers and their dependents are given financial protection, medical benefits and rehabilitation services in cases of work-related injury or death. Employers who fund the system are protected from lawsuit as a result of work place accident or injury. The Workers Compensation Board also protects workers and employers by improving work place health and safety in PEI through administration of the Occupational Health and Safety Act. The organization believes strongly that one key to the long term success of the compensation system is accident prevention and has committed significant resources to safety education, awareness and prevention efforts.
