MARAD intends to award a fixed price purchase order under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures for the work described below. If you are interested in this RFQ please contact the Contracting Officer by email at debbie.velmere@dot.gov. The RFQ will be set-aside for small businesses only. NAICS is 562211 with a size standard of $11.5M, SIC 4953. It will not be issued earlier then June 2, 2008. The solicitation will be available by electronic posting and and may be found at www.fedbizopps.gov or http://ideasec.nbc.gov.
STATEMENT OF WORK: Remove a layer of Bunker C fuel oil that is floating on the surface of rain water that has accumulated in the hold during the rainy season. Once the oil is removed to the greatest extent possible, the Government will pump the remaining water into a ship's ballast tank. This approach should minimize the amount of waste generated and the mess left over in the hold after the water is pumped out. Please note that the contractor is not responsible for the removal of the water, nor any clean up after the water has been removed.

The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
