Description
The Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) has established a project team to evaluate potential Developers for a Community Development Initiative (CDI) Lifestyle Center for three military installations - Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, Fort Lewis, Washington, and Ft. Sam Houston, Texas.

AAFES will conduct an Industry Day in support of its Community Development Initiatives (CDI) to create these lifestyle centers.     The purpose of this Industry Day is to match agency needs with current industry capabilities, provide a forum for technical exchange among potential bidders, and to discover what commercial practices can be successfully introduced to current agency processes.       Through a series of presentations, AAFES will describe its key objectives, a general overview of individual projects, the Public/Private Venture (PPV) process, leasing, finance and the developer selection process.     Presentations will be followed by a brief break and conclude with a question and answer session.

The Post Exchange/Base Exchange (PX/BX) and possibly the Commissary will serve as major anchors to the proposed Lifestyle Centers.     The offerings at these Lifestyle Centers may include a multiplex movie theatre, apparel stores, specialty stores, a food court, casual and family dining, books, and various personal services establishments that are comparable to first class retail establishments outside the gate.

AAFES will conduct a Developer Forum at our world headquarters on February 15, 2008, wherein each of these projects will be discussed in greater detail.     Attached are the itinerary for this meeting, as well as a map to HQ AAFES Offices.     If you are interested in participating in this forum, please contact the individual shown below so that we may accommodate the appropriate representatives from your company.
