Synopsis:

The Department of Veteran Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 7, has a requirement to procure a Part Time FTE -Based Dietitian to service beneficiaries located at the Charleston VAMC (Ralph H. Johnson) Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) located in Myrtle Beach SC. The required number of hours to be performed under this requirement on an annual basis is estimated to be 520 hours (per year). Services performed under this requirement shall be of Non- Personal Health Care Services. All contractor personal performing under the final contract award shall remain employees or subcontractors of the contractor. The Department of Veterans Affairs will utilize the required Dietitian Services to provide medical nutritional services to veteran beneficiaries inclusive of the following: planning, developing and directing all nutritional care activities for assigned clients to include those with complex medical and nutritional needs. The Dietitian shall also be capable of supporting the medical center's mission and shall demonstrate the ability to coordinate nutritional care with other health care providers, the client, the client's family and the local community. The increasing complexity and specialization in nutrition requires that the clinical dietitian have expertise in a wide range of disease entities, treatment modalities and drug/nutrient interactions. The Clinical Dietitian Services will also be required to be involved in the professional practice of dietetics in accordance with the guidance set forth by VHA Manual M-2, Part III, Nutrition and Food Service, Chapter 4. A written Solicitation will be issued via the Federal Business Opportunities website at FEDBizOPPs.gov on or around June 10, 2008.
