Synopsis:

The VA Medical Center seeks to provide local consultation services for Cardiology for beneficiaries of the VA Medical Center in Coatesville, PA. The purpose of the contract is to provide for the availability of specialty services for Coatesville VA Medical Center patients, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 P.M. and provider telephone consultation available 7 days a week/24 hours a day. It will be the responsibility of the specialist to ensure coverage is uninterrupted. The Cardiologist is required to provide an algorithm for any radiology or lab testing required prior to the scheduling of the various stress tests or other diagnostic procedures. The algorithm will be submitted to the Coatesville VA Medical Center medical staff for review and acceptance at the time of bidding for this contract.
Services may include the following: Circulatory Disorders W AMI & Major Comp Disch Alive; Circulatory Disorders W AMI W/O Major Comp Disch Alive; Circulatory Disorders Except AMI; Circulatory, Heart Failure & Shock; Atherosclerosis W CC; Cardiac Arrhythmia & Conduction Disorders W CC; Specific Cerebrovascular Disorders Except TIA; Syncope & Collasp W CC; Syncope & Collasp W/O CC; Chest Pain; Cardiac Defibrillator Inplant W/O Cardiac Cath; Cardiovascular Stress Testing ( including Persantine, Dobutamine, or Adenosine); Transesophageal Echocadriography; Physician Telephone Consultation; Holter Monitor; Initial Inpatient Consult; Endoscopic Vein Harvest; CABG, Vein, Two; CABG, Artery-Vein, Four; CABG, Arterial, Two; Removal of Heart Lesion.

Solicitations will be available for download from the Internet o/a May 2, 2008. Proposals are due not later than May 23, 2008 by 4:00 PM Eastern Standard Time at the VA Medical Center (542/90C), 1400 Blackhorse Hill Road, Building 19 North, Coatesville, PA 19320.
