Synopsis:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Thermo Fisher Scientific, 47777 Warm Springs Boulevard, Fremont, CA, 94552, for the purchase of an Lab Vision Autostainer 3602D for laboratory use. The Autostainer 3602D provides support for 36 slides with 2D barcode and includes a computer mini-tower with expansion, 15" LCD display, color inkjet printer, a computer data cable 8' PCI, label printer with printer cable, slide barcode label kit, and reagent barcode label kit. The Autostainer 3602D, an IHC stainer, contains the following required features: pre-treatment module, network capability, integration of software with existing equipment, and minimum slide capacity of at least 36 slides per run. It is capable of running two units working off the same computer to enhance work flow and save laboratory space. The pre-treatment module integrated into the machine allows for total automation of the staining process, required for EID and BT testing where pre-treatment is used to enhance the sensitivity of the tests. CDC believes that this requirement is met by only one provider. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 6.302-2. Only one responsible source and no other sources will satisfy agency requirements. No solicitation is being issued.
