The Western Montana Acquisition Zone anticipates awarding a contract for water system improvements on the Swan Lake Ranger District of the Flathead National Forest. The project consists of furnishing and installing an underground potable water system consisting of 1-inch and 1-1/2-inch HDPE and galvanized waterline, valve boxes, ball valves, and frost free water hydrants. The work also includes removal of existing hydrants and valve boxes along with seeding and mulching the disturbed areas. Work is expected to begin on July 1, 2008 and must be completed by August 15, 2008.
Project Location. The project is located on the Swan Lake Ranger District of the Flathead National Forest, Missoula County, Montana. The project is south of Holland Lake and is approximately 8 miles southeast of Condon, Montana, off State Highway 83 and Forest Road No. 44 and No. 44A (NW1/4 Sec. 2, T.19N., R.16W., P.M.M.).
