The USDA, Agricultural Research Service intends to issue and award to Prosolia, Inc., Indianapolis, Indiana on a sole source basis. Award will be made pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture proposes to sole source purchase an Omni Spray Ion Source kit with 1-D Automation for the LCT Premier TOFXE mass spectrometer.
Description of Supplies/Services: The Omni Spray Ion Source kit with 1-D Automation for the LCT Premier TOFXE mass spectrometer, meets the following specific design and performance specifications which are not offered at all, or cannot be met/exceeded by any other current commercial source which is required to meet the Center s mission.
The Omni Spray Ion Source kit is a specialty add-on to an existing piece of equipment. The Source kit includes: DESI Technology source with rational and X-Y-Z positioner, and sample platform with X-Y-Z positioner, 1-D automated sample positioner system and software, high voltage connector cable, 2 CCD cameras with magnifying optice (mag x60), 2 CCTV monitors, industrial quality, B/W, integrated light source, AC/DC adapter for cameras and light source, BNC cables for CCTV system, 5 fused Silica Emitters, samples of two disposable surfaces, and DESI source installation and operating manual.
The Omni Spray Ion Source kit shall be installed, delivery FOB, to the USDA, ARS, SRRC, New Orleans, Louisiana.
Responses are to be received within 15 days (noon CST, September 25, 2008) of this notice. The NAICS Code/Size is 423490. This procurement will be processed pursuant to FAR part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. No solicitation will be issued.
