Synopsis:

The Department of Homeland Security intends to award a sole source purchase order to Dr. John Vitko Jr., P.O. Box 829, Livermore, CA 94551-0829. The requirement will be a Firm Fixed Priced purchase order. The contractor will chair the Biodefense Net Assessments (BNA) Executive Review Panel (ERP) and provide expert advice and consultation to both the Biological Emergency Advisory Team (BEAT) and to the current director of the Science and Technology (S&T); Directorate s Chemical and Biological Division. The DHS Directorate of S&T; is tasked with researching and organizing the scientific, engineering, and technological resources of the United States and leveraging these existing resources into technological tools to help protect the homeland. The proposed contract action is for services which the Government intends to award to only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested sources may submit a letter via e-mail to the Contracting Officer identifying their interest and capabilities to respond to the requirement. Responses must be received no later than April 25, 2008, 4 p.m. EDT. A determination to compete this procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This is not a request for proposals or quotations. Phone calls will not be accepted.
