Synopsis:

There is no solicitation. The United States Fish and Wildlife Service, Contracting and General Services Division in Portland, OR has plans to award using other than full and open competition to Qiagen Incorporated of Valencia California. This vendor is the only know source to supply a multiplex PCR kit (1000) which is required to produce data that is compatible with data generated previously by the Abernathy Fish Technology Center and with partner agency laboratories. This kit has been optimized for analyzing microsatellite DNA panels in bull trout, winter run Chinook salmon, and steelhead. The Service intends to award Sole Source to Qiagen Incorporated. This synopsis is a notice of intent to issue award using other than full and open competition and is not a request for competitive proposals. The determination of the Government not to open subject requirement to full and open competition was made IAW FAR 6.302-1.
