Description
This market survey is to locate sources that are capable to design, develop, and manufacture the Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Medium Gain Antennas, NSN: 5985-01-149-2576 and the Antenna Extensions, NSN: 5895-01-388-442 8, which are used with the Medium Gain Antenna. The Medium Gain Antenna is a foldable, circularly polarized, UHF Satellite Communication (SATCOM) antenna designed for portability and easy of use.    This antenna shall be withstanding wind loading in excess o f 80 miles per hour. This Antenna shall be set up and deployed in less than 3 minutes by one person using arctic gloves. This antenna system shall have the capability of operating with the AN/PSC-5, AN/PSC-3, AN/PSC-7 (MST-20 Plus), AN/PSC-10 (LST-5A/B) an d AN/PRC-117 or equivalent ground, shelter or manpack Satellite communication systems. This Yagi antenna shall be designed and built in accordance with the Government product specifications and shall be deployable 2000 times or operated at fixed locations for extended period of time by military troops in all possible military environments.    The use of Antenna Extensions shall enable the Medium Gain Antennas to increase the gain of the antennas from 7 dBic to up to 11 dBic as required.    The current source fo r these items is Trivec-Avant Corporation, CAGE 60188.    Detailed technical drawings for the manufacture of these units are not available from the Army. The only technical data available, which will be a part of the solicitation, are the product specificati ons.    Potential sources of supply must be able to meet or exceed the following Government requirements: 1. The use of Antenna Extensions shall enable the Medium Gain Antennas to obtain additional gain enhancement as required.    The basic antenna shall interface /connect with the first (lower) set of the extension assembly through an adapter/connector.    Location of this adapter is to be on the top of the basic antenna.    Additional interface feature is then designed onto the first extension set to accommodate the s econd (upper) set of the extension assembly.    The adapter / connector shall be designed to be able to accommodate both the suppliers extension assemblies and the currently fielded Army antenna extension assemblies.    For storage, the two (2) antenna extens ions are to be folded and stowed in the two inside pockets of the medium Gain Antenna carrying case.
Suppliers capable of meeting the Government technical requirements of these antennas must so indicate and provide proof of their ability, in respons e to this market survey, to the procuring activity no later than April 14, 2008. Written responses shall be sent to Commander, US Army, CECOM LCMC, ATTN: AMSEL-LC-COM-T-TM (Roger Eng), Building 1202W, Fort Monmouth, New Jersey 07703-5023.    Response via ele ctronic media using Microsoft Office 2000 products (i.e., Microsoft Word and Excel), and Adobe Acrobat (Portable Document Format) is acceptable.    The response must include documentation such as the suppliers prototype designs (drawings or sketches) of the se antennas with supporting technical data and the currently certified test data of these antennas, copy of purchase order if the supplier was a vendor to the listed source or a statement from listed source demonstrating that the supplier can, in fact, sup ply the Army with these antennas that will be physically and functionally interchangeable with the antennas from previous supplier.    Successful supplier may be required to warrant that the items supplied will satisfactorily perform when used for the purpos e intended by the Army.
