Justification for Sole Source: The Microsoft Campus Agreement is a 3-year program through Microsoft and its resellers that allows accredited academic institutions to take advantage of academic pricing. This Agreement is an annual subscription with Software Assurance that provides DINFOS with product upgrades as they are released for the 3 year life of the Agreement. This agreement includes all Microsoft products currently in use at DINFOS. This includes MS Windows Server, Windows XP and Vista, MS Project, MS Visio, MS SQL, MS Exchange, MS Office, and applicable client access licenses. MS Campus Agreement provides DINFOS with a vehicle for purchasing multi-volume licenses for all Microsoft applications currently used and taught in the school. The products include server and workstation operating systems, desktop applications, and development and database applications. All staff and student workstations currently utilize Microsoft products for daily activities. DINFOS currently owns a number of software packages used by staff and students for training. This service is vital to the mission of DINFOS. This proprietary, vendor-specific hardware/software is currently in operational use at DINFOS. This is a 3-year lease agreement renewable yearly with CDW-G that was awarded the contract FY2005 through competitive acquisition. The process to initially establish the paperwork baseline required by Microsoft for this service was extensive. The current documentation required by Microsoft to remain in the program resides with CDW-G.
This announcement constitutes the only notice; a written solicitation will not be issued. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all quotes received by the closing date specified in this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
