Shaw AREVA MOX Services, LLC (MOX Services), operating under U. S. Department of Energy (DOE) Prime Contract DE-AC56-99CH10888, is the Prime Contractor for the Mixed Oxide (MOX) Fuel Fabrication Facility (MFFF) Project to be built at the Savannah River Site (Aiken, South Carolina, USA). Under the Terms and Conditions of the Prime Contract, MOX Services is responsible for the procurement of Supplies, Services, and Construction in support of the MOX Project.
MOX Services is seeking potential vendors for the Manufacturing (Build to Print) of four (4) Pellet Storage Units situated in the pellet process area of the Mixed Oxide (MOX) Fuel Fabrication Facility. The four storage units are: Green Pellet Storage (PSE), Sintered Pellet Storage (PSF), Scrap Pellet Storage (PSI), and Ground & Sorted Pellet Storage (PSJ).
The Quality Level for this solicitation is QL-1.
Below is a description of the Pellet Storage Units:
Manufacture four (4) process unit (glovebox and equipment) systems, each very similar and each with:Glovebox shell structure with the following: 1. Primarily stainless steel construction; Rack with approx 400 storage positions; rack is SS with neutron shield embedded; Internal and external piping for ventilation and fire suppression; Temporary glovebox window assemblies; Overall GB dimensions are 28 ft L x13.9 ft H x 3.8 ft W.
2.Equipment internal to Glovebox including: Three-direction Stacker/Retreiver for transfer of containers to and from rack storage positions; Dozens of sensors, actuators, cables and connectors to support operation; Door with shielding embedded; Maintenance jib crane; Maintenance winch
3. Multiple electrical panels and cabinets (and internal components) external to the glovebox: One electrical cabinet is for PLC that is to be provided mainly by a MOX designated supplier; One electrical cabinet is an MCC that is to be provided mainly by a MOX designated supplier.
4. Glovebox structural support beams and components external to glovebox
5.Large mobile radiation shield doors external to the glovebox; doors to slide on rails.
6.Other Aspects: MOX is responsible for design; Offeror scope is Build To Print ; Tight dimensional tolerances; Compliance with NQA-1 QA program; Some components are to be procured from MOX designated suppliers; Develop testing procedures and perform testing of equipment movements; Provide certain temporary components (cables, containers, glovebox support items) to support testing at Offeror s Shop; Support MOX-conducted, comprehensive In-Advance Testing of one PSP Unit.
