Synopsis:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Procurement and Grants Office intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for laboratory analyses of participants in the National Health and Nutrition Survey (NHANES). This is a performance-based contract. A single award will result from this solicitation, with a firm-fixed price contract. The period of performance is a base period of 6 months plus 2 year cycles for four 4 years. All laboratory data must be comparable throughout the survey with the same laboratory and methods used. The contractor shall perform laboratory analysis for one or two options of the following: HLA_B27 testing or HLA_B27 and subtypes tests. For option one use whole blood to assess for the presence of the human leukocyte antigen B27 by using a dot blot or DNA based assays reported as a positive or negative result for the presence of HLA_B27. For option two if the HLA_B27 test is positive, perform a follow-up test to determine the specific HLA_B27 subtype. The contractor shall list the specific HLA_B27 subtypes to be tested and reported. At a minimum these will include the HLA_B27 subtypes found among healthy persons as well as the subtypes associated with spondyloarthritis and uveitis. HLA_B27 subtypes shall be uniquely identified without ambiguities whenever possible. Contractor must have a well-established quality control program and document that the method used is a calibrated system with at least 2 years of quality control data. Prospective offerors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) in order to be eligible for award.
