Synopsis:

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Work consists of removing 1 existing 48 round pipe and furnishing and installing a maodular design single lane standard 25 reinforced concrete bridge.

Associated work includes mobilization, soil stabilization, construction of road approaches to the bridge, concrete foundation, placement of borrow material and crushed aggregate rock.

Streambed simulation material shall be placed under the new bridge and for approximately 100 feet if stream channel, then shaped to simulate a natural channel. Stringent erosion and sediment control measures will be required.

The roadway will be reestablished to the existing horizontal alignment and aggregate surfacing replaced. All disturbed areas will be seeded and mulched.

This project will be posted to FedBizOpps as a pre-solicitation notice on July 23, 2008. The project will upload in FedBizOpps as a solicitation on or around August 7, 2008, and bids will be due at the Malheur National Forest office COB on September 8, 2008. This project is estimated between $25,000 and $100,000.

To view the project site, travel from John Day, Oregon and go East on US Highway 26. Go thru Prairie City, Oregon (13 miles) and continue to travel East for approximately 32 miles. Turn left at the Austin House Jct. on Highway 7 for approximately 1 mile, then turn left on County Road 20. On County Road 20 go approximately 8 miles to Road 4550. Travel approximately 1.5 miles on road 4550 to the 4550018 road. Turn left on the 4550018 road and go approximately 1.5 miles to the project site. District
