The Department of Veterans Affairs, Iowa City VA Medical Center, Iowa City, IA intends to negotiate a sole source procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302.1, with North Central Instruments, 3700 Annapolis Lane, Suite 145, Plymouth, MN to purchase an Leica TIRF imaging system with 4 laser, epi-fluorescence and incubation for live cell experiments to the facility. Interested parties may identify their experience in providing this equipment to the Contracting Officer via e-mail gary.rogers4@va.gov or fax 319-339-7121. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is VA-263-08-RQ-0313 and issued as a request for quote (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-25, effective April 22, 2008. The associated NAICS code is 423490 and small business size standard is 100 employees. The acquisition is not set-aside and is being negotiated as a sole source procurement.
