Synopsis:

The U.S. Department of State, Regional Procurement Support Office and the U. S. Embassy, Kingston, are seeking qualified offerors for providing janitorial services at the U.S. Embassy Compound, U.S. Agency for International Development building, and Colin Powell Plaza in Kingston, Jamaica. The required services at these locations will include both routine scheduled services, as well as temporary additional services that may be required in preparation for special events. The successful offeror will be required to perform both interior and exterior janitorial services at several locations within the Embassy compound and Colin Powell Plaza, including offices and workstations, computer rooms, conference rooms, break rooms, dining areas, bath rooms, locker rooms, common areas, elevators, stairways, copier rooms, corridors, warehouse and motor pool areas, and compound security entrance booths. Janitorial requirements at these locations will include such activities as emptying of wastebaskets and recycling containers, including the removal of trash and recycled paper to designated collection points; restocking of paper products in bathrooms; cleaning of glass, windows, doors, including frames and sills; carpet maintenance and cleaning, including replacement of carpet tiles as necessary; cleaning and sanitizing of floors, counters, fixtures, partitions, and shower stalls in bathrooms and locker rooms; dusting and cleaning office areas, furniture, blinds, and other vertical surfaces; and mopping, scrubbing, sweeping, and vacuuming of floors. Janitorial services also include the cleaning of drinking fountains, refrigerators and other appliances, and coffee stations. The solicitation is planned for release to qualified offerors in July 2008, with contract award anticipated in September 2008. The resulting contract type will be firm-fixed price, with a base year and four option years. The estimated value of services for each year of the contract is between $150,000 and $300,000 (U.S.).
