Synopsis:

NASA/KSC has a requirement for a year maintenance for energy dispersivespectroscopes. The requirement is for the following items: 1) INCA 250/SEM Si(Li) serial no. 11445//29228-1390-01 (QTY 1).2) INCA misc/x-stream//SEM TV3 serial no. 13131//13131-5350-TV3-4081 (QTY 1).3) INCA misc/x-stream//DryCool///WAVE serial no. 4782/A4782-6350-MS-51///4782 (QTY1).NASA/KSC intends to purchase the items from Oxford Instruments America, Inc. This requirement has been restricted because NASA/KSC has existing hardware systems thatare proprietary to Oxford.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to maria.m.figueroa@nasa.gov not later than 4:30 p.m. local time onJuly 8, 2008. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purposeof determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Adetermination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
