History: Last buy June 1989, Israeli Aircraft Industries, QTY - 38 EA, less than $5,000.00. Applicable to: J-79-15/17 Engine. Size/Dimensions: Cylindrical duct, .40-.48 inch thickness skin, approximately 12 inches long. Forward flange has 80 each 0.281 inch diameter bolt holes, equally spaced on a 33.56 inch diameter. Rear flange has 60 each 0.343 inch diameter bolt holes, equally spaced on a 36.56 inch diameter. Function: Mounted between the turbine frame aft flange and the forward flange of the afterburner rear exhaust duct. Number one afterburner liner is mounted inside this duct. Afterburner Multi-Jet fuel nozzles (21ea) are installed in this duct. Afterburner Torch Igniter assembly is mounted at the 6:00 o'clock position. Material: A286, corrosion and heat resistant steel, per GE Spec B50T12. Operating temperature up to 1200 degrees F. Delivery: 1 EA by 30 JUN 2008. Export control required. The approximate solicitation issue date will be 28 MAR 2008. The anticipated closing date will be 19 MAY 2008. First Article Testing Required. Qualification requirements: Sources must be qualified prior to being considered for award. Qualification information can be obtained from OC-ALC/SB, ATTN: Source Development Office, 3001 Staff Dr Ste 1AG 85A, Tinker AFB OK 73145-3009 (405) 739-7243 or (405) 739-7244 for further information concerning the source approval process. Written procedure will be used for this solicitation. TO: Associated Aerospace Industries (Cage-51226), and Turbocombus for Technology (Cage-64043). Responsible sources solicited may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered. Authority: 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), Justification: supplies (or Services) required are available from only or a limited number of responsible sources(s) and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one, or a limited number of sources under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. Award will be made only if the offeror, the product/service, or the manufacturer meets qualifications requirements at the time of award in accordance with FAR Clause 52.209-1. The solicitation identifies the office where additional information can be obtained concerning qualifications requirements as cited in each individual solicitation. It is suggested that small business firms or others interested in subcontracting opportunities in connection with the described procurement make contact with the firm(s) listed. Note: An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition.
