The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for Dry Dock and repairs to a 64 FOOT AID TO NAVIGATION BOAT (643502). The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Full and Open Competition, Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about 12 March 2008. The solicitation will be issued electronically via the Federal Business Opportunity web page at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for the RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. The NAICS Code is 336611. The acquisition is for DRYDOCK repairs to a 64 FOOT AID TO NAVIGATION BOAT (643502). The vessel is homeported in Corpus Christie, TX. All work will be performed at the contractors facility. This vessel is geographically restricted to 430 Nautical Miles of their homeport of Corpus Christie, TX. The performance period will be forty-nine (49) calendar days with a start date on or about 19 May 2008. The scope of the acquisition is for the overhauling, cleaning and repairing of various items aboard the 64 Foot Aid to Navigation Boat. This work will include, but is not limited to: 1. Welding repairs. 2. Clean and Inspect Fuel Tank (includes disposal). 3. Clean and Disinfect Potable Water Tanks. 4. Clean and Inspect Ballast Tanks and Voids. 5. Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller Shaft. 6. Straighten Shaft. 7. Renew Water Lubricated Shaft Bearings. 8. Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propellers. 9. Perform Minor Repair and Reconditioning of Propeller. 10. Clean, Inspect, and Test Grid Coolers. 11. Inspect Exhaust Mufflers. 12. Clean and Inspect Main Engine and Ship Service Generator Uptakes. 13. Align Main Propulsion Engine. 14. Renew Valves. 15. Gray Water Piping Replacement. 16. Inspect Steering System. 17. Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Rudder Assemblies. 18. Overhaul Chain Stoppers. 19. Inspect Various Deck Fittings. 20. Preserve Spud and Spud Well Surfaces. 21. Preserve Ballast Tanks and Voids. 22. Preserve Weather Decks. 23. Preserve Buoy Deck. 24. Preserve Underwater Body. 25. Preserve Freeboard. 26. Routine Drydocking. 27. Provide Temporary Logistics. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings will be sent via U.S. mail, if requested. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g. DWF, etc). Trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures shall accomplish all welding and brazing.
