The US Army Corps of Engineers has a need for a contract to provide all labor, materials and testing required in completing the Conemaugh Rehabilitation Elevator Project at the Conemaugh Dam, Conemaugh River Lake, Saltsburg, PA 15681. The work shall consist of upgrading the existing six stop electrical worm geared traction elevator located in the Dam. The existing elevator has a 1200 pound capacity and a rated speed of 125 fpm. This project will upgrade the existing controller, refurbish hoist motor and machine, upgrade elevator car operating panel and fixtures, landing fixtures, top-of-car-operating device, landing system, safety devices, limit switches, and other modifications as described in the contract specifications. Contract Period. The period of performance will be 180 calendar days. Magnitude of the project is between $100,000 and $250,000. The Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be issued approximately June 27, 2008 on-line only through Federal Business Opportunities (FBO); therefore requests for hardcopies of the specifications will not be honored. Requests must be made by registering for this solicitation through FBO at www.fbo.gov. Once registered, vendors, plan rooms and printing companies will be able to download the solicitation and specifications on or after the above issuance date.
