Description
Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with     the State of Utah, Department of Technology Services (UDTS). UDTS will provide routine and emergency maintenance for NOAA-owned weather radio transmitters located at Frisco Peak, Logan Peak, Asphalt Ridge, Utah Hill, Bald Mesa, and Barney Top, UT. The National Weather Service (NWS) transmits continuous weather broadcasts in these areas. These broadcasts areas are tailored to weather information needs of people within the listening area. These radio sites are at very remote locations throughout the State of Utah. The UDTS     provides maintenance on a regular and emergency basis since it's the only known source that possesses both expertise and maintenance personnel at these remote locations. In addition, UDTS also provides tower space on towers for NWS-owned transmitter systems. Finally, UDTS possesses radio technicians with specific training on the NWS transmitter systems. Authority for proposed acquisition if FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supply or service will satisfy agency needs. The period of performance is for one year from date of award. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within fifteen days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000
