Description
The AFDW Contracting Unit, Andrews AFB, MD intends to negotiate a sole-source contract with Motorola Communications, Columbia, MD; for preventative maintenance for all infrastructure of fixed network equipment associated with the ASTRO 25 Digital Communications System at Andrews AFB. The system in place, ASTOR 25 Digital Communication System was manufactured and installed by Motorola. Motorola maintains direct access to the complex stock of OEM parts, kits, assemblies and accessories that can be expedited for 24 hour turnarounds as needed. Network monitoring is supported by remote diagnostic and restorable capabilities available thru Motorola?s off-site help desk support system. The Government intends to award a base plus three option years to Motorola Communications. The base period of performance will be 01 May 2008 through 30 September 2008; all remaining option years will be awarded on a twelve-month basis thereafter. The authority for this non-competitive award is 41 USC 253(c)(1) as set forth in FAR 6.302-1. Interested concerns may identify their interest and submit a capability statement that demonstrates their ability to provide the required maintenance service. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive acquisition. This notice is NOT a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation is available; therefore, requests for such documents will be solely within the discretion of the Government. Responses to F1D7418070AQ01 must be in writing. If no affirmative responses are received by 3:00 PM EST on 28 March 2008, the Contracting Officer will proceed to issue a contract to Motorola Communications. The NAICS code is 811213
