| The Department of Central Management Services, Bureau of Strategic Sourcing and Procurement is giving notice of Illinois State Polices intent to purchase three Latent Print Global Workstations. This will enable ISPs forensic science laboratories to examine latent prints from crime scenes, encode them and submit them to the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) database for comparison against all known prints of criminal offenders. |

| Sole Source Only Justification: | The purchase of three Latent Print Global Workstations from the NEC Corporation of America will enable the ISP case to be worked in a timely, efficient manner reducing backlogs and providing results quickly to the law enforcement agencies they serve. Because compatibility with current AFIS equipment is absolutely necessary, the NEC Corp. of America is the only vendor who can provide the needed additional Latent Print Global Workstations. This is a sole source procurement since NEC Corporation of America is the sole provider since compatibility is paramount consideration in this purchase.
Any challenge to this Notice must be submitted in writing within 14 days of the published date shown below and to the person identified below. Late challenges will not be considered. Only a challenge with documentation, which sufficiently demonstrates and proves a prospective vendor's ability to meet all specifications and other requirements of the Agency making the award will be considered. The documentation must indicate a price equal to or lower than the amount shown in this Notice. |
