Description
The AFFTC/PK, Edwards Air Force Base, CA is seeking potential sources capable of providing 1 Ea. High Temperature Cavity Blackbody.
REQUIREMENTS
High Temperature Blackbody- Must be Model number 4100 Series. Must have a maximum 1" diameter view into a high emissive cavity whose temperature can be controlled over an absolute range of 50-1000, degrees centigrade, Set point resolution is 0.1 degree C; Display resolution is 0.1 degree C; Slew rate including settling time is 100-1000 degree C in less than 60 minutes and 1000- 100 degree C in less than 85 minutes; stability of +0.1 degree C short term and +0.5 degree C long term; emissivity greater than .99; Controller Dimensions 17"W x 3.5"H x 14" D (19" rack mountable). Must have an extensive Built In Test (BIT) assuring that the blackbody is functioning properly during use. Temperature corrections are to be made "closed case". Must provide zero drift and low jitter control of emitting surface's temperature.

Firms responding to this notice must identify their company's capabilities to perform the requirements described herein, reference the solicitation number and indicate whether or not you are a small business concern as defined in FAR 52.219-1.
The information received as a result of this synopsis will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Air Force not to open the requirement to open competition, based on response to this sources sought synopsis, is solely within the discretion of the Air Force. The Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this sources sought synopsis. It is anticipated that a Firm Fixed Price contract will be awarded in Feb 2007.
