Synopsis:

The Virginia Contracting Activity, on behalf of the Defense Intelligence Agency/Missile and Space Intelligence Center (DIA/MSIC), Building 4545, Fowler Road, Redstone Arsenal, AL 35898-5500 has a requirement to replace two (2) Trane HVAC located in facility 4505 G-3. The contractor shall provide labor, tools, materials, and equipment to remove exiting HVAC units and install two new ones. Effort includes:
(1) Demolish (1) 5-Ton and (1) 7.5-Ton HVAC units to include exhaust systems installed above each unit. Dispose of materials.
(2) Remove existing unit stands, drain pans, drain lines and miscellaneous components.
(3) Install new (1) 5-Ton and (1) 7.5-Ton Trane split package HVAC unit/heat pumps with minimal heat requirements, to include new stands, drain pans, and 1" PVC drain lines to facility exterior for a complete and fully operational system.
(4) Transition existing supply and return ducts to new fan coil units as required.
(5) Form, place and finish (2 ea) exterior concrete pads for new condensing units as indicated by the POC. Size of pad is dictated by the unit sizes but shall have a minimum pad depth of 4" and extend 6" from perimeter of condensing units.
(6) Set new condensing units with new piping, control circuits, and electrical connections as required by NEC (NFPA 70 2008) for a complete and fully operational system.
(7) Insulate all piping and ductwork.
(8) Test and balance both units and install new filters as recommended by the equipment manufacturer on start up.
(9) Provide equipment manuals and start-up documentation to the POC upon completion of the project.
(10) Protect all adjacent finishes, furnishings and equipment from damage.
(11) Dispose of all materials and rubbish, thoroughly clean the work areas when finished.
(12) Provide a one (1) year all inclusive warranty on the integrity of the completed process in conjunction with equipment manufacturer's warranty.
This acquisition is to be set aside and awarded to Small Business (SB). The primary North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 238220. The SB size standard for this code is $13.0 million. Period of performance shall be two months from date of award for completion. Installation shall be coordinated with the facilities office Monday through Friday from 0730 until 1600 hours. Site visits are available and can be scheduled by contacting Ms. April Paul at 256-313-7942. However no site visit will be allowed after 18 April 2008. MSIC is a secure facility and escorts will be provided each work day. No RFQs or RFPs will be issued other than this notice.
