The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award, on a sole source basis, a Purchase Order to The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Washington, DC. The purpose of the purchase shall include services related to development and evaluation of educational materials that build on results of a recent survey by National Center for Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD) and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG.) The survey assessed knowledge, attitudes, and practices of obstetricians in the management of women with gestational diabetes, as well as results of focus group interviews of pregnant women. The authority for this procurement is FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The period of performance is a base year with one year option, from the date of award of the purchase order. Anticipated award date is January 1, 2009. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide the required services are encouraged to identify themselves and provide written notification to the Contracting Officer, within fifteen (15) days from the date of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
