The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is conducting a market survey to determine potential qualified sources for an upcoming procurement. THIS SYNOPSIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. No solicitation exists at this time.
The VA seeks a contract for 6-8 residential treatment beds in San Francisco for homeless veterans with a serious mental illness or a serious mental illness with co-occurring substance use disorder. Therapeutic and rehabilitative services will be provided which include structured group activities, individual counseling, and support for an alcohol/drug-free life style, based on a treatment plan developed by the program staff in conjunction with the veteran and the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center (SFVAMC) Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) The usual period of treatment will be 3 months, with a maximum of 6 months, as determined by the program staff and COTR. The contractor will employ sufficient professional staff and other personnel to carry out the program. At a minimum, there will be an employee on duty on the premises, or residing at the program and available for emergencies, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The facility will comply with the latest edition of the National Fire Protection Association Life Safety Code, Standard No. 101.

The projected period of performance is 1 base year and 4 one-year options. The anticipated award date is not later than July 2008
