The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, San Diego, intends to procure services to care for remains of deceased military personnel in support of the Naval Medical Center, San Diego, California. The services/supplies include providing caskets, shipping containers, cremation services, transportation, removal, pick up, hardwood caskets, vase type spun bronze urns with carrying and shipping containers, cremation caskets, death certificates, and burial/transit permits. Estimated quantities are provided in the Request for Proposal (RFP). The services shall be performed in accordance with the RFP and its attached instructions. Mortuary employees must meet current state licensing board certification/license requirements.
The NAICS Code is 812210, SIC 7261, and the small business size standard is $6M. The period of performance will be 1 October 2008 through 30 September 2009 for Base year with four, one-year options. The resulting contract will be a firm-fixed price indefinite delivery requirements type contract. FOB destination. This procurement is unrestricted; all responsible businesses may submit an offer which will be considered. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be available within 3 days after the date of this synopsis.
