NOTICE TO CONTRACTOR

Pursuant to HRS Chapter 103D, SEALED TENDERS will be received up to and opened at 2:00 P.M. Hawaii Standard Time (HST), on JULY 18, 2008, in the Office of the Division of Purchasing, Department of Finance, 4444 Rice Street, Room 303, Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii, 96766, for the Furnishing and Paying for all materials, labor, transportation, tools, equipment, machinery and services necessary to construct in place complete:

ELEELE NANI PARK IMPROVEMENTS

COUNTY OF KAUAI

BIDDERS ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED THAT EVIDENCE OF THE AUTHORITY OF THE PERSON(S) SIGNING THE BID DOCUMENT IS REQUIRED TO BE INCLUDED WITH THE BID DOCUMENTS. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENT WILL BE CAUSE FOR REJECTION OF A BID AS BEING NON-RESPONSIVE OR NON-RESPONSIBLE.

The successful bidder is required to submit to the County of Kauai, a tax clearance from the State Department of Taxation and U.S. Internal Revenue Service, a Certificate of Good Standings from the State Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs and a Certificate of Compliance from the State Department of Labor and Industrial Relations as a prerequisite to entering into a contract (HRS 103D-328, HRS 103D-310, HAR 3-122-112).

The Director of Finance reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, if deemed to be in the best interest of the County.

All prospective bidders shall have a Hawaii State Contractor General Engineering License Type A, to be qualified to submit a bid.

A written notice of Intention to Bid must be submitted by all prospective bidders. Such written notice must be received by the Director of Finance no later than JULY 7, 2008 4:00 P.M. Hawaii Standard Time (HST), ten (10) calendar days prior to the bid opening date. If the tenth day is on a Saturday, Sunday or County holiday, the notice is due on the last working day prior to the due date.

Risk of late delivery of mail shall lie with the bidder.

A pre-bid (mandatory) conference is scheduled for 9:30 A.M. JUNE 30, 2008 at LIQUOR DEPT. CONFERENCE MEETING ROOM NO. 3, MOIKEHA BLDG., 4444 RICE STREET, LIHUE,KAUAI,HI_.

All interested parties, contractors, subcontractors, and respective union representatives are invited to attend.
