NOTICE TO
CONTRACTORS
Pursuant to HRS
103D, sealed tenders will be received up to
2:00 P.M., Hawaii Standard Time, on June 19, 2008, and opened immediately
thereafter in the Office of the Division of Purchasing, Department of Finance,
4444 Rice Street, Room 303, Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii, 96766, for the Furnishing and
Paying for all materials, labor, transportation, tools, equipment, machinery and
services necessary to construct in place complete Phase II Lateral Expansion, Cell 1 Base
Liner Construction, Kekaha Sanitary Landfill, Kaua i,
Hawai i.
BIDDERS ARE HEREBY
NOTIFIED THAT EVIDENCE OF THE AUTHORITY OF THE PERSON(S) SIGNING THE BID
DOCUMENT IS REQUIRED TO BE INCLUDED WITH THE BID DOCUMENTS. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS REQUIREMENT
MAY BE CAUSE FOR REJECTION OF A BID AS BEING NON-RESPONSIVE OR
NON-RESPONSIBLE.
The successful bidder is required to submit to the County of Kauai, a tax
clearance from the State Department of Taxation and the U.S. Internal Revenue
Service, a Certificate of Good Standing from the State Department of Commerce
and Consumer Affairs, and a Certificate of Compliance from the State Department
of Labor and Industrial Relations as a prerequisite to entering into a contract
(HRS 103D-328).
Bid documents may be obtained from said office upon application and
deposit of ONE HUNDRED AND NO/l00 DOLLARS ($100.00) in cash, cashier's check or
certified check made payable to the "Director of Finance, County of Kauai". The deposit shall be refunded upon the
return of the specifications in good condition provided that they are returned
within thirty (30) calendar days after the date designated above for the opening
of bids. No refund shall be made
after the expiration of such period.
The Director of Finance reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in
whole or in part, if deemed to be in the best interest of the
County.
All prospective
bidders shall have a Hawaii State General Contractor s license type B to be
qualified to submit a bid.
A written notice of
Intention To Bid must be submitted by all prospective bidders. Such written notice must be received by
the Director of Finance no later than 4:00
P.M., Hawaii Standard
Time, on June 5,
2008, ten (10) calendar
days prior to the bid opening date for consideration. If the tenth day is on a
Saturday, Sunday or County holiday, the notice is due on the last working day
prior to the due date.
A mandatory pre-bid
conference is scheduled for May 22,
2008 at 9:00
a.m. at the Kekaha
Landfill Conference Room 6900-A Kaumuali i Hwy, Kekaha, Hawai i. Persons needing an alternate format or
auxiliary service at the pre-bid conference due to a disability should contact

conference.
Risk of late delivery of mail shall lie with the bidder.
