USCG, MLCP (vpl-1) in Oakland, CA proposes to contract for the dry dock and repairs of USCGC TERRAPIN (WPB 87366), an 87 patrol craft, home port in Bellingham, WA. All work shall be at the contractor s facility during the period of 05 November 2008 through 16 December 2008. A geographical restriction within the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Puget Sound, WA is applicable. Work items shall include: production of a control GANTT Bar Chart; hull plating underwater body inspect; hull plating, underwater body ultrasonic testing; appendages (underwater) leak test; appendages underwater preserve internal; voids (non-accessible) preserve internal; voids non-accessible leak test; propulsion shaft seals mechanical inspection; propulsion shaft bearings (external) check clearances; propeller clean/inspect; pressure gauges and thermometers (critical) calibration; pyrometers and thermocouples (critical) calibration; tachometers (critical) calibration; sea strainers (all sizes) overhaul; AFFF engine room bilge flooding piping installation; installation of new hydraulic system; rudder stock bearings check clearances; rudders inspect and repair; hull plating, underwater body preserve, partial; deck coverings (interior polymeric) reseal; temporary services, drydock provide; sea trials; drydocking accomplish; possible option items as follows: exhaust port hull plating renewal; appendages (underwater) air test; voids (underwater) air test; MDE exhaust muffler clean and inspect; MDE exhaust system cleaning; SSDG exhaust muffler clean and inspect; SSDG exhaust system cleaning; fathometer transducers general maintenance; hull plating, underwater body preserve (100%); rudders (exterior) preserve; hull plating, freeboard preserve.
On or about 22 August 2008, an Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be available electronically at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. This is Total Small Business set-aside procurement. Only certified 100% small business contractors may submit a bid. The NAICS code assigned to this procurement will be 336611 with a size standard of less than 1,000 employees.
