NOTICE
EMERGENCY BID
This solicitation
is issued as an EMERGENCY PROCUREMENT. Time is of the essence.
The
County of Kaua i, Department of Public Works is requesting bids to furnish and
install two new Return Activated Sludge (RAS) pumps and appurtenances at the
Lhu e Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).
Work includes, but is not limited to, furnishing and paying for all
materials, labor, transportation, tools, equipment, machinery and services
necessary to construct and install in place complete, replacement RAS pumps and
appurtenances, in conformance with applicable Federal, State, and County
standards, codes, and regulations.
The signed original of
the Bid Proposal must be received no later than 2:00 P.M. HST, November
21, 2008,

It is the bidder s
responsibility to ensure that the Division of Purchasing receives the Bid Proposal
on time and in a legible condition.
The
Director of Finance reserves the right to cancel this Request for Bids and to
reject any bids, in whole or in part, when in the best interest of the County
of Kauai.
To
be eligible to bid, bidders must possess a valid State of Hawai i
General Engineering Contractor s A or B license prior to the award of the contract.
The
successful Bidder shall comply with the tax clearance requirements of HRS
103D-328, and the Responsibility of Bidders of HRS 103D-310(c).
This
Request For Bids shall be governed by the requirements of HRS, Chapter 103D-307
and the respective Hawai i Administrative Rules, and copies must be obtained from the Division of
Purchasing,
