The US Forest Service is currently doing market research to determine if there are small businesses that can manufacture and deliver FS-14 parachute assemblies in accordance with Forest Service specific drawings (MTDC-922 Parachute Assembly, FS-14, 5% Extended Skirt, Polyconical). Are there small businesses that have past experience building these types of assemblies for the Forest Service or similar assemblies for the US military (i.e. SF-10A or MC-6)? How many of these assemblies can you manufacture in year with a 180 day delivery requirement?
This Sources sought notification is simply an attempt to gain information about the market for the above mentioned services. There is no guarantee that the government will pursue a contract for these services.
Interested small businesses having the capabilities to provide the stated services are invited to submit concise documentation describing qualifications, capabilities, and experience providing the services described herein. This information will allow the Government to determine if there are any sources are available and interested in providing these services. Potential sources should indicate in their response their business status (i.e., small business, 8(a), HUBZone, Veteran owned, etc.) This information will be used to determine whether the procurement can be set-aside for small business concerns.
This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a solicitation. The Government is not requesting technical or management proposals and no contract will be awarded as a result of this sources sought notice. Your responses will be used solely for market research purposes of the Government. The Government will not pay for any materials provided in response to this notice and submittals will not be returned to the sender. If a solicitation is later released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps. It is the potential business concerns responsibility to monitor this site for the release of any synopsis or solicitation.
