This notice constitutes the intent of the J7, Defense Distribution Center, New Cumberland, to negotiate on a sole source basis, a six month extension to an existing contract with California Packaging. The contract modification extends the contract to supply various sizes and quantities of corrugated fiberboard, domestic, single wall, regular slotted cartons for use by Defense Distribution Depot, San Joaquin and Hill. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government to not conduct this effort as a full-and-open competitive procurement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
