The Suwannee River Water Management District (District) is seeking bids for the eradication of Invasive Exotic plants on District-owned lands. Invasive exotic plants occur in some concentration on almost every parcel of land owned and managed by the Suwannee River Water Management District. Many of these plant populations are relatively small and are difficult to bid on an individual basis. In an effort to achieve effective treatment and reduce the time and expense of multiple site visits, the District is requesting bids based on hourly treatment rates. Once the contract is awarded, the Contractor will be given maps to several treatment sites.
Treatments will primarily occur in Columbia, Hamilton, Suwannee, Lafayette and Alachua Counties. Some sites will require a full day or more to complete; many will not. Treatment sites will be lumped together where possible to minimize travel time and create a full work day. Access to all sites is good and will range from upland forests to floodplain swamps. Although a few of the sites need to be treated by backpack sprayers, most can be treated from a truck or ATV. A majority of the plants to be treated are listed as EPPC Category I and II invasive species.
