The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service offices intend to negotiate on a sole source basis with Metalworks of Montana. This action is under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), as implemented by 6.302-1 (b)(1)(i), justified and approved in accordance with FAR 6.303 and FAR 6.304 Under this requirement the manufacturer Metalworks of Montana Inc. are able to provide the type 6 engine. The type 6 wildland fire engine will be used being used for the Gulf Coast National Wildlife Refuge Complex fires through out the Southeastern Region. Metalworks of Montana are the only ones who are fully capable of providing the type 6 engine to meet the safety requirements of the 6 type wildland fire engine specifications that were approved and inspected by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Safety Office for fire equipment. It's the Government belief that this requirement can only be met by Metalworks of Montana Inc. has been viewed as the only considerations are grounded in nationally-recognized fire service standards and the local needs of this fire management program to effectively operate alongside our partners in managing wildland-urban interface fire incidents the unique capabilities to meet this requirement because of their knowledge and experience network of suppliers and knowlwedgable mechanics and technicians to ensure that the engine is restored to it's factory specifications. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NEITHER A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION NOR A FORMAL SOLICITATION OF OFFERS.
