The Trustees of the California State University will receive sealed bid proposals from pre-qualified bidders in the Procurement Office, Building 75, at 2740 So. Campus Drive, Pomona, California, to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, apparatus, facilities, transportation, and permits for the Encinitas Hall Building 20 ADA Restroom Renovation project at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona).
Sealed bid proposals will be received before 2:00 PM on March 25, 2008, in accordance with the contract documents, at which time the proposals will be publicly opened and read. The bid must be submitted on the Bid Proposal Forms provided by the University, completely filled out and sealed in an envelope.
Project Description: ADA renovation of 6 restrooms and shower rooms. New plumbing, mechanical, electrical and complete finishing systems.
Bid package, plans and specifications will be available from Mission Reprographics, 2050 E. La Cadena Dr., Suite L, Riverside, CA. Contact Gary Schwalbe at (951) 686-8828 after 2/22/08. Cost for plans and specifications are $100.00 per set and are not refundable. Make checks payable to California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
Each bidder offering a proposal must comply with bidding provisions of Article 2.00 et seq. of the Contract General Conditions for Design-Bid-Build (Major Capital Outlay) Projects (hereinafter referred to as Contract General Conditions). Bidder shall enclose with the Bid Proposal Form a bidders security in an amount equal to ten (10) percent of the amount of the bid, including alternatives (see Article 2.06 (c) of the Contract General Conditions). If the bidder is awarded the contract and then fails to execute the contract, this bidders security shall be forfeited to the Trustees. The bidder should be familiar with all the provisions of the Contract General Conditions and Supplementary General Conditions.
The University has obtained from the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations the prevailing wage determination of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate for holiday and overtime work in the locality in which the work is to be performed for each craft, classification or type of work needed to execute the Agreement. A mandatory bidders conference has been scheduled for February 27, 2008, at 2:00 PM. Bidders should assemble at the Procurement Office, Building 75, at Cal Poly Pomona. Prospective bidders are encouraged to attend this meeting at the scheduled time and date.

The Bid Documents are available to bidders who have been pre-qualified by the Chancellors Office, and licensed in the State of California with an A or B license. Pre-qualification letters must be faxed to Lorraine A. Rodriguez at (909) 869-5475.
The Trustees require the successful bidder to achieve a minimum goal of 3% DVBE participation in contracting construction projects as established in the bidding documents or to provide acceptable evidence of good faith efforts to do so. The time period for completion of the overall project shall be 75 calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages are $10,000.00/day.
