Synopsis:

The following work will be performed at the Robert A. Grant Federal Building & U.S. Courthouse, 204 S. Main Street, South Bend, Indiana. The scope of work consists of but is not strictly limited to, furnishing all labor, material and equipment necessary for Elevator Moderization in the entire building. The Elevator Modernization Project for the Robert A. Grant Federal Building and Courthouse in South Bend, Indiana involves updating 4 existing elevators (2 traction and 2 hydraulic) to comply with current standards and codes. The building was constructed in the 1930's and many finishes and some equipment are original. Work includes upgrades to or replacement of elevator controls, devices and mechanisms and upgrades to the lighting, electrical and the fire protection and safety systems related to the elevators and machine rooms. Also included are improvements to the machine rooms and pits including ventilation, painting and the replacement or improvement of ladders and stairs. The historically sensitive refurbishing of the 2 original cabs and bronze elevator lobby doors is also part of this project.

The estimated cost range for all work is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. This procurement is open to all business concerns. The North American Industrial Classification Code (NAICS) is 238290. This is a negotiated procurement; there will not be a public bid opening. The solicitation will be available on or about April 23, 2008.

The solicitation cited above can only be obtained by accessing a secure website known as the Federal Technical Data Solution (FedTeDS). FedTeDS is a secure website designed to safeguard sensitive but unclassified (SBU) acquisition information. In order to obtain information from FedTeDS, you will first be required to register with CCR (Central Contractor s Registration) database. Once you register with CCR you will be required to register with FedTeDS. You may access CCR at the following URL, www.bpn.gov. No federal materials can be downloaded until you have registered under both sites. You may access FedTeDS via the following URL, www.FedTeDS.gov.

At a minimum all vendors must supply the following information: Your Company's Central Contractor Registration (CCR), Marketing Partner Identification Number (MPIN) (you can get this number from your company s CCR Point of Contact), you company's DUNS Number or CAGE Code (Contact Dun & Bradstreet at 1-800-333-0505 if you do not have a DUNS Number), your telephone number, and your e-mail address. Also, beginning January 1, 2005, as required by the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) all vendors will be required to use the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) in federal solicitations as a part of the proposal submission. You may access ORCA via the following URL, www.orca.bpn.gov. Potential offerors should refer to the solicitation package regarding instructions involving the use of ORCA.

Potential offerors will be responsible for downloading the solicitation and monitoring the website for amendments, if any, to the solicitation. All responsive offers from responsible offerors will be considered.
