The Vicksburg District, Corps of Engineers proposes to issue a sole source award to Geoprobe Systems/601 N. Broadway, Salina, KS 67401 for electrical vane shear testing (VST) equipment. The equipment will meet the minimum requirements of American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) test method D 2573. Furthermore, the systems are required to record and store test data electronically with Windows-compatible software provided with the system. The capability to record and store test results electronically is necessary to eliminate the potential for operator error and transcription errors for these critical projects. This equipment has to be windows compatible because the computer in the CPT truck is windows based and this equipment will interface with the existing equipment in the CPT rig. A firm-fixed price award will be made utilizing the Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Any other responsible source able to provide the electrical vane shear testing equipment is encouraged to respond to this announcement within 7 days after its publication. This is not a request for quotations and there is no solicitation available at this time.
