This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in SubPart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the solicitation; a separate written solicitation will not be issued. Quotes are being requested for the following:
Period of Performance: 01 October 2008 through 30 September 2009
CLN001 Embroidery service will include pick-up, delivery, and modification of the Naval Special Warfare Group ONE, Battle Dress Uniform (BDU), Desert Combat Uniform (DCU), Army Combat Uniform (ACU), and Marine Combat Uniform (MCU).
Service to include: Regular embroidery - Blouse-Collar device patches (2) plus sewing, US Navy tape (top left pocket), Name tape (top right pocket) plus sewing, Warfare designation patches (2 max) and special device if applicable (i.e., Command-at-Sea) plus sewing, Pants name tape (right top back pocket) plus sewing. Bill cap patch device plus sewing.
Operational tape-make name tape, US NAVY tape, and warfare pin tape (1) for each person which may be ordered in Battle Dress Uniform (BDU), Desert Combat Uniform (DCU), Army Combat Uniform (ACU) and Marine Combat Uniform (MCU).
Operation BDU/DCU (Blouse only). Intent is to utilize on a limited basis only. Detach two large lower pockets to be sewn on the chest portion. Pockets are angled inward toward each other. Attach pile tape for name tape above right breast pocket and two strips of pile tape above left breast pocket for "US NAVY" and warfare pin. Make name tapes, US NAVY and warfare pin tapes for each person with Velcro backing which may be ordered in DCU, ACU and MCU colors.
Detach two small chest pockets to be sewn on both shoulder sleeves. Pockets slightly angled inward toward upper potion of the sleeve. Additional 4x4 pile tape coverving the outside of the pocket itself. Additional tape 2x4 in both shoulders just below the seam. Additional pile tape 1x1 on the back upper center portion under the flap of the collar.
Warfare Designations: Trident, ESWS, EAWS, EXW, Naval Aircrew, Naval Aviation Warfare, Naval Parachutist, Basic Parachutiest, Sub Warfare, Deep Submergence, Master Diver, 1st Class Diver, 2nd Class Diver, Scuba Diver, Master EOD, Basic EOD, FMF, SWCC, Small Craft, SCW, Seabee emblem, Surface Warfare Officers (SWO), SWO (Supply Submarine/Medical/Aviation).
Estimated Quantity for FY-09:
Estimated quantity for one set (top and bottom) uniform embroidery: 1,700 sets.
Estimated quantity for Operational BDU (Blouse Only): 1,000 each.
Estimated for name tape, warfare, US NAVY tape (operational): 2,000 each
Pick Up and delivery "Door to Door".
Pick up schedules: Tuesday and Thursday pick up between the hours of 1300-1500.
Primary staging for pick up is Readiness Office, 3632 Guadalcanal Road Bldg. 165 West, San Diego, CA 92155
Emergency service pick-up and delivery with no additional cost to the Government to include weekends and holidays. Pick up time within one (1) hour or as specified by Readiness Office. Door to Door pick up or same day delivery service depending on work volume.
Delivery time for normal is listed below:
Turn around time: One day, work volume 1-5 sets (BDU/Mod Regular embroidery/Operational tape)
Turn around time: Two days, work volume 6-10 sets (BDU/Mod Regular embroidery/Operational tape)
Turn around time: five days, work volume 10 or more sets (BDU/Mod Regular embroidery/Opeationa tape).
Special request service: No additional cost for minimal work: Up to two request per week. Special request to include missing butons up to 2 buttons. Free sewing service to include buttons, sewing small rips, resizing of pant length and hemming. Custom make patches (i.e., designations, devices, name tags) must be readily availabel for immediate embroidery and sewing service.
Due to necessity for quick and last minute request, this vendor must be in the local San Diego area.
