REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
FOR
ELEVATOR MAINTENANCE SERVICES
RFP NO. CDC08-600

Notice is hereby given that sealed proposals will be received by the Community Development Commission of the County of Los Angeles (Commission), and the Housing Authority of the County of Los Angeles (Housing Authority), collectively referred to hereinafter as Public Agencies, until Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. for elevator maintenance services from qualified California State Contractors License C-11 - Elevator Contractors. This will include furnishing all labor, material and equipment, and performing all work necessary and incidental in accordance with the Public Agencies Statement of Work (SOW) and contract documents. Proposers are strongly encouraged to attend a pre-proposal meeting on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. located at 3405 Via Dolce, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292. The Public Agencies may award a one-year contract with the option of four, one-year extensions, provided services are satisfactory and funds are available.

Proposers shall provide an original and five (5) copies of their business proposal and an original and one (1) copy of their cost proposal, which shall be delivered and addressed to:

The Request for Proposal (RFP) complete with submission requirements and the cost sheet will be available on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. and may be downloaded from the Community Development Commission s website at www.lacdc.org, under Doing Business with Us View Open Solicitations . No oral, electronic, facsimile, or telephonic proposals or modifications will be considered unless specified. Proposals received after the scheduled deadline will be returned unopened. Proposers who download the Request for Proposals Elevator Services package and do not wish to submit a proposal, should reply with a letter of No Proposal by the deadline indicated above.

In submitting a proposal, each proposer thereby agrees that, if awarded a contract, it shall execute a standard contract, a sample of which is attached to the RFP package for reference. The Public Agencies shall not award a contract to, or be obligated to execute a contract with, any proposer who refuses to execute said standard Public Agencies contract.

The Public Agencies reserve the right to reject any and all proposals. This RFP is not a contract or commitment of any kind. The Public Agencies are not liable for costs incurred in the preparation of the respondent s proposal. It reserves the right to issue supplementary information or guidelines related to this RFP. Notwithstanding any other provisions herein, the Public Agencies reserve the right in its sole discretion to waive minor technical deficiencies in the Proposals. In accordance with the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, Age Discrimination Act of 1975 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, it is the policy of the Public Agencies to assure equal opportunity to all persons, in the award and performance of any contract, without regard to race, color, sex, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, marital status, or disability.
