The equipment must include the following accessories and capabilities:
A precision computer controlled stage mechanism, with fast (20-264
microns/sec) motor assembly
Inert gas ports for purging the balance and inner chamber
A bi-directional communication cable for computer interface
A digital balance with dual ranges Low Range: 1.5g capacity, 0.1g
sensitivity, 150mg weight change. High Range: 3.5gm capacity, 1.0g sensitivity, 750mg weight change.
Measurement range for surface tension of 0.1 to 500 dynes/cm and for contact angle of 0 to 180 .
Measurement sensitivity for surface tension of 0.0001 dynes/cm and for contact angle of 0.001 .
Must also be suitable to analyze wood fibers with a minimum diameter of 0.001 mm.
The equipment must come with a PC (Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent or better (2.8 GHz or better), 512 MB SDRAM, 80 GB hard drive, 48X CD-RW drive,128 MB graphics card, 10/100 Mbit network card , 19" flat-panel LCD display, two (2) USB connections, keyboard, and mouse, and applications software (Win NT/2000) to perform the following calculations:
1. Geometric/Harmonic Mean, Lewis Acid/Base, Wicking
2. Rate, Zisman, Liquid Surface Tension Component and
3. Contact Angle for wood powders using the Washburn equation.
Vendor must be prepared to install and test the equipment on site
