NOAA's Marine Operations Center-Pacific has a requirement for a contractor to provide all supervision, materials and labor necessary to perform drydock repairs to the NOAA ship HI'IALAKAI. All work is expected to be performed at the successful contractor's facility. Performance period is expected to commence on or about October 28, 2008 and be completed January 20, 2009.
The work consists of approximately 8 basic items. Basic work includes: routine drydocking, underwater body inspections, painting of the underwater body, servicing of the ground tackle, repair of the sea valves, weight control, ABS survey, and utilities and services for the basic contract. Optional work may include, but is not limited to the following: dock and sea trials, coating of the ballast tanks, pipe replacement and repairs, replacement of the escape shuttle, cleaning of the galley ventilation system, locating exhaust leaks, reconditioning of the captans, installation of an air-conditioner, cleaning and testing of the main engine heat exchangers, cleaning of the mail propulsion generator cooling pipe, painting of the well deck, ballast/grey water tank, main and emergency switchboard cleaning, ultrasonic testing of the diesel engine saltwater cooling piping, repair and coating of the sewage holding tank, replacement of the swing and pinion gears on the aft deck crane, anti-roll tank dump valve remote operator, installation of task lights, polishing of the propeller blades, stateroom HVAC duct cleaning, replacement of the main mast multi cable transit, removal and installation of the speed log, fabrication and installation of trackpoint hoist extension.
